Senior Accountant
Our Group is expanding, and we’re looking for an Accountant based in Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.
This position will be client facing and require fluent English, great interpersonal skills and a high level of proactivity.
The Accountant will oversee and ensure the accurate and timely management of all financial records and reporting obligations for local and international clients.
The role requires in-depth knowledge of Dominican Republic accounting practices, tax regulations, and experience in managing full-cycle accounting functions. You will also be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide quality results
Requeriments
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 year in a senior role.
- Strong knowledge of Dominican tax regulations and accounting standards (PUC-RD, IFRS).
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in managing payroll, tax filings, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, ZohoBooks, or local ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Experience working with multinational clients.
Responsabilities
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards (IFRS and PUC-RD) and tax laws.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all tax filings, including ITBIS, ISR, and other Dominican Republic tax obligations.
- Conduct audits and internal reviews to ensure compliance with legal and tax regulations.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with Dominican labor laws and social security contributions.
- Stay updated on changes in Dominican tax laws and accounting standards.
- Manage client relationships by providing financial advice and support tailored to their business needs.
